The seer was clear, only war could settle the matter, only war could dissolve the doubt. Only war could decide which of the four nations that have prevailed since he was born the earth if the contending. "Strange," said the angel, turning to his most trusted adviser, "I thought that the task of the seers was to calm everyone by presenting a more merciful, not to stir up the tightening up their intentions."
Councillor was silent, nodding briefly. His rueful smile spoke more than his voice could never do. The angel looked worried
outside the window of his golden palace. It was raining. He could not interpret it as a bad omen.
* deep underground, in quell'intercapedine below the surface that it was still too close to the planet's core and that the foolish human liked to call Hell, two vampires looked at the dark ceiling miles away representing their sky, poised and swung wearily on their tombstones.
"It seems even darker than usual," laughed the younger, one of the new vampires, behind just about seventy years from sixteen forever.
The other pulled up a corner of the mouth in a crooked smile, baring his sharp canines. "And you have no idea what tomorrow will look even darker."
* The sky was so clear as to almost hurts the eyes. Under the bright sunshine and summer, the rider enjoyed those last hours of the first heat of the night - and before the fateful dawn dell'indomani - lying on the grass, the head resting on the knees of his lady. -Free, armature, as he felt light and happy in the arms of his beloved, he could not think of anything but how nice it would be his armor under that sun shining.
"may be true," she said absently, "that we are born exclusively for fighting."
She smiled sympathetically, bending down to cover his lips with his own in a fleeting kiss. The rider could only think that it would probably be the last.
* observing the thick snow falling outside the window, and cover the valley with a layer of clean white, almost dazzling, the magician frowned. Outside was doing dark too quickly, and he still had too many tasks to accomplish, too many spells to be studied, too many others to be completed, too many potions to mix, too many scepters to be lit with the sacred spark of magic.
"Come then, lad," he said gruffly, turning to the apprentice, "elbow grease, that with the pestle."
The boy nodded frantically, crushing the herbs with more force. The Wizard continued to stir the pot boiling in the greenish potion. The moment of truth was almost reached. There was no time to lose.
Prodi angels, vampires, wizards and knights, the time has come the start of hostilities. You have already noted your team belong? Have you checked if you're still there? (Ehm.
